Please help me, got into a car accident?

I got in a car accident today...SOMEONE please help.?

  • got in a car accident today. I was driving with only my permit, without a licensed driver, driving myself to the hospital for an asthma attack, and a semi swerved into my lane, I was looking over my shoulder to make sure he wasn't going to hit me, and I ended up rear ending the person in front of me. The only damage that was done is that their bumper was bent, it didn't hit the car at all, just the bumper. I have Liability insurance, and the police came, took the report, I told them I was on my way to the hospital, he allowed me to have a licensed driver come and pick my car up, thank god he didn't have it impounded. But he told me that it is now up to the DMV if my license will be suspended. I told him I have an appointment on the 15th to get my license, and he told me if he were me he would go and get it because his report isn't even going to hit the dmv by then. Well my question is, do you think they will take my license away? I've read that driving without a licensed driver and getting caught that they take it for 5 years in the state of California which is where I live. So that's basically my question, and if they DO take it, is there anything I can do to get it back? I'm also paying 150 a month for liability insurance, and I was wondering about how much you guys think it will go up with the damage that was done, since it didn't even touch their actual car, just the bumper. If anyone has any advice also it would really help me out. I'm FREAKING out.

    I hate to ruin your day, but the DMV takes it very seriously when an error like that is made. They always have to go by the book, and you were very much in the wrong....you knew what the rules are Good Luck

I kinds doubt they will cause it was an emergency. As long as it was your only option you know. If they do it probably wouldn't be anything serious..

stop worrying//all these things cannot be controlled by you//inform ins co and then go for license//this is the world and you have to learn to function in it and thats whats happening..one thing at a time//have license in hand and ins co wants more money--either you pay or you dont//you shop for diff ins co//if one day at a time is not in your time line take it one hour at a time//you cannot worry about 10oclock if its 8-15//dont worrywhen 10 comes you will be ready for it//and if your not--dont matter it comes anyway and you get ready for 11 oclock//take everything in stages because thats how it comes//i have been doing it for years and i was always freaking out
