How much does a class a truck driver make in Austin, TX?
-
My husband and I are considering moving our family to Austin, but before we can really make plans we need to know if he will be able to support us. He has 10 yrs experience, mostly tanker trucks. He has hauled fuel, propane, saltwater, and also worked as a dump truck driver and on a highway construction crew. So these are some of the positions he may qualify for. I don't need exact figures, just a general idea of what we will be looking at. Or websites that may tell me what I'm looking for. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Answer:
Don't know what driving jobs are like in Texas, but nationally you can expect an experienced local company driver to make $400-$500 a week. If he wants to go Over-The-Road, he could make better money, but then he won't be home more than 1-2 days a month. Good luck with that.
