What's on the Nevada driving skills test?

Can I waive the skills (driving) test? in TX?

  • I am 17 and currently under the Parent-taught program for a driver license. I went online, apply for a package, bought an online course and did everything online. I got my "learner driver license" in February of this year. I completed the rest of the online course and about to go take the skills test to get the true driver license (driving without an adult of 21 yrs and up) in a couple of days. But as I was going through the papers, in "Behind the wheel instruction - driver education affidavit" , I found at the bottom it said . "Based on the Texas DPS's administrative regulation, the skills (driving) test will be waive for a teenager who completes both the classroom and Behind the Wheel portion of a Texas driver education course. Please indicate your desire to waive the skills test." and 2 choices, Yes and No. I was wondering if I could waive my skills test?

  • Answer:

A parent taught program is not a licensed course according to my understanding of the law. You need an affidavit from a licensed school to be able to apply for the waiver on the driving skills test.

No. Only the "classroom" portion can be done online. You did not do the "behind the wheel portion" of a course if you only did the online course.
