Can I get a motorcycle license on a car permit?

Hi i live in california and i wanted to know if i need a car license or permit to get my motorcycle license?

    if you like to ride a motorcycle then get only a motorcycle license if you have a car and a motorcycle get both.......like me I have both license depend as an individual.

i would guess no of course you will have to take the drivers test..written and riding part(they dont provide motorcycles.u must bring/borrow one for riding test) i have my motorcycle license and didnt have to have drivers license in states of missouri and virginia i would check with dmv in your state along with age requirement. riding test is easy..youll ride around cones and see how u stop. basically they want to see if u have good balance and control of the bike.
