How much does an alignment cost for a vw passat 2003?

  • My friend was driving my car out of her driveway and hit her stone pedestal with my car. it dented my front left rim along with a lot of cosmetic damage. I noticed shortly after that my steering wheel is tilted about 30 degrees to the left when i drive straight. this happened about 2 weeks ago and my friend said that it may have damaged my wheel fixture along with my alignment. I wanted to know if this would effect my car to a point where it would be unsafe to me and the car to drive. i don't know anything about cars, but was wondering how much an alignment is as well.

    Since your not very familiar with vehicles i would strongly suggest you take your car to a local auto repair facility with a good reputation, If your wheel is turned 30 Degrees, i would say there is more damage than just being out of alignment. Damaged strut assembly, tie rod ends or ball joints etc. A 4 Wheel alignment depending on where you live typicaly costs around 100.00. Although if there is damage you wont be able to get it done correctly.

1st you need to repair any damage to the suspension and rim before an alignment can be performed. Your car will need a 4 wheel alignment so it can run about $80 or so. Call a few shops in your area that specialize in alignments. gl.......

Chances are that a suspension component got damaged with the incident. It will require an examination by a competent professional. HINT: since you do NOT know much about cars, your engine requires SPECAIL engine oil to prevent excpensive internal damages. THe oil must "meet Vw/Audi" specifications. This is a synthetic oil that last for one full year between changes. NO VALVOLIN< unless it meets these spec's. READ the oil labels. Many European engines get ruined by improper oil choices. Be SMARTER than that. You probably bent a control arm. Get it examined, and use BLAUFERGNUGEN website to get best mail order parts prices, or 1-800-ALL_AUDI.
