How much is a full paint job on a 1992 Honda Civic?

Would it be a bad idea to get a cheap paint job from like maaco on my 1993 honda accord?

  • i just turned 16 got my license and bought a 1993 honda accord. Its a little beat up here and there but i actually used black spray paint to paint over the various colors. and now it looks pretty good or at least better but i was wondering if it would be worth getting a cheap paint job on it knowing ill only have it for about 2-3 years??? so ya??

  • Answer:

it depends. think of the pros & cons of it. is the car in good running condition ? does it have rediculous amounts of miles on it ? & are you really concerned of how it looks on the outside ? -if it doesnt have any severy motor/trans issues, doesnt have a rediculous amount of miles, & it does bother you that your car isnt nice on the outside, then id say YES. but first, check out a few local maacos, check out reviews, & try to talk to people that got thiers done thier. even though thier all called "maaco" some may SUCK & some may be close to perfect. -also, you should try to prep the car ahead of time, it will save you ALOT of money. go on google, check out a basic guide to preping a car to be painted. type in something like "How to prep my car before painting" like sand it, whatever. but yea, id do it

Well it all depends on how much you like looking like you did it yourself. I had my 92 BMW (Black) painted by Maaco 7 years ago for $600.00 and despite being left outside in the southern California Sun EVERY day it still looks much better then it did before. (and all they do all day is paint cars...the guys who do the spraying are pretty good at it) I was advised to have Maaco do the paint job by a Body Shop we have been using for over 20 years My advice is too start off right with whatever car you have and try to keep it looking the best and most clean you can. I have never seen a truly successfull person with a crappy/dirty looking car filled with old fast food wrappers. They might have an old car (or dirty for a day or two) but generaly it is looking good for its age. If you have the $.$$ paint it... Your squeeze and parents will be much happier

forget the paint, just keep it clean and well lubed and it will last until you are ready for your next replacement ride, or longer

nope on something that old should be fine
