How much do cars cost at the JUNK yard?

  • me and my friend are thinking about buying some old cars at the junk yard. how much do they usually sell them for? Do they run? How much do they buy cars for?

    Junkyards do not sell whole cars. There is no money in that. They only sell parts and will sell each and every little part off the car, then what they can't sell or have sitting too long they crush and sell for scrap metal. A junk yard will pay anywhere from $20 bucks to $500 for a car. Some runs, some dont. They sell the running engines for $300-800, non running engines for $75-200, transmissions for $100-400, etc etc.

They are worth more as parts than they pay for them. Some run and some are just driven in because nobody want`s it anymore. Or they are wrecks that have been written off by the insurance company. It will cost to much to get a running wreck from them . Better off to find used cars in your area that no one drives anymore and are scrap.
