How to fix an inner door handle?

How to I fix car door handle?

  • The front part of my drivers outside door handle broke in half last year when ice froze the whole car. I was slow to fix it and this year the inside left piece the connects to the inside of the drivers door has snapped. I can still open the door but the handle wobbles when I do. I can still grab the left piece inside of the door with pliers if needed but can't figure out how to fix it. I called Toyota to ask them how much it would cost to get a new handle for my 2000 Camery and they told me $129 for the part then about $150 labor. can any one help me find a cheaper solution? Maybe using an epoxy or glue? Any idea how to apply this glue given the tight working area? Thanks.

  • Answer:

go to a junk yard were u can pull the part urself and u can get it for around 10 bucks........if u go to a junkyard that they pull it they will want to sell u the whole door......which will run u about $75 still way cheaper than the dealer........ as far as epoxy i doubt u will b able to repair the door in this way do to the stress put on door handles.....

Yeah, junk yard and replace the whole handle. Some modern cars today you don't even have to pull the door panels out to get to the handle.
