Are this parts interchangeable?

Are the parts of a 1974 and a 1981 Chevrolet Camaro interchangeable?

  • If so which parts are, which parts are not and which years are also interchangeable

  • Answer:

Drivetrain will interchange. A lot of interior. Doors and trunk lid will. I am not sure about the fenders and nose as pieces, but they will swap over as a unit

pretty much ever with interchange just not under 1974. some of the body pieces might look a little different but they will interchange.

A lot of things have changed in seven years, so I would guess some interior bits.

Nothing body or suspension or interior related is interchangeable. The ONLY things that might be would be basic Small Block Chevy engine components, as ALL SBC's are the same from 1955 until the LT1 motor. The generations run 1967 - 1969 (1st gen), 1970 - 1981 (2nd gen), 1982 - 1992 (3rd gen), 1993 - 2002 (4th gen), 2010+ (5th gen). Nothing between generations is swappable, with the exception of the 3rd and 4th gens - the rear axle, seats, gas tank, exhaust, springs, shocks, and a few other things are interchangeable. Having stated all that - with a hot enough welder and a big enough hammer, anything is interchangeable with anything - but now we're talking fabricating and not swapping.
