What do I need for installing HID lights on my car?

  • I have a Toyota Camry 2008 and I want to put HID lights on it. My question is, do I only need to buy HID bulbs or do I still need the HID Conversion Kit? I don't know if my Camry is HID-ready, so I need help because HID Kits costs around $100+ and the bulbs are just around $10. I don't want to spend for the HID Kits if I really don't need them. thank you for your help! :)

    i yes you have to buy a conversion kit your car should take a H11 bulb for your low beam. i would recommend getting a 8000k setup it looks the best. i did it on my camry. try www.mvisionauto.com i got my kit from them. the 10 bulbs your talking about are just bulb that are tinted bulb, you actually get less light from them. they are really NOT HID light. good luck.

You will need the kit, it comes with bulbs and ballasts, the ballasts increase the voltage to ignite the gases inside the bulb. Stay away from cheap ebay ones, they are poor quality and often have issues that cause them to flicker, look for a good quality one, you will pay a little more but won't have any problems with them.
