Who applies in car insurance, the owner or the driver?

If anybody knows in BC if you get speed ticket , will efect the driver or the principal insurance car owner?

  • I drived my firend car & got speed ticket in BC Canada. Iam not sure if it will effect me to get 3 score or him because car insurance is in his name but I was driver

  • Answer:

    Moving violations are assigned to the driver, not the vehicle owner. The only exception is if this is a photo radar or red light camera ticket, those would go to the owner. However in B.C. moving violations do not affect insurance with ICBC.
