Can i get my permit now and get mt license on my 18th bday ?

hey im 17 now and i was going to go get my permit the law in pa is that yu have to wait 6 months to take ur driving test if yur under 18. my 18th birthday is feb 11th which is 3 months away if i get my permit now will i still have to wait the 6 months or can i get my license on my 18th bday?
