Will my license get suspended?

Will I get my son taken away if I drive with a suspended license in CA?

• I got my license suspended last year and it will stay suspended until September this year for driving uninsured (my insurance had just run out. go figure: i get in a crash the day AFTER the insurance is no longer valid). I was pregnant at the time, but now I have my son. I've since stopped driving per my suspension, but I'm trying to get a job, and my husband may not always be able to give me a ride. My question is: If I get pulled over, will I get my son taken away for diving on a suspended license? I haven't done it yet, for that reason, but I may have to do it in order to be able to get a job and take him to the babysitter's. I'm not a careless parent, I'm a parent trying to get a job to support my family. Also, will I get a fine AND jail time or just a fine? I'm not too concerned about a fine because I'll just pay it off and keep working, but I don't want to end up in jail because that's not something I want my son to see. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you. Oh! And if you're just gonna sit there and judge me behind your computer, then stick it where the sun don't shine, because you don't know me or my situation. I'm genuinely asking for advice, not someone who talks out of their a**.
