Driving without a license in California?

I'm 17 and going to be 18 in september. Right now I don't have a license because my parents never took me to go get one. So I'm waiting till I'm 18 because if I remember someone told me when your 18 you can go in take some written tests and take the driving test and then your set to have your license. Even though I dont have my license I drive all the time. I have my own car. I've been driving for a year now and I'm a really good driver but for any reason I am pulled over, What would happen?

your licence will be suspended for 3 more years till ur 21 .... depending on the situation probably get your car taken away :)
