What qualifies as proof for an expired registration ticket?
-
I'm in California and got a ticket for expired registration. The courtesy notice I got seems to indicate that I can take care of it through the mail by sending payment and proof. It doesn't indicate what the proof should be though. I know I can get the DMV or police office to sign off on the ticket, but I lost that. Does a photo copy of my new registration card qualify as proof? I can set up a court date, but do I need to do that if I take care of it through the mail? Thanks!

Answer:
PROOF is renewing your license plate @ your local DMV (sending them a copy of the RENEWED registration is your proof that you are in state compliance).
