How much does your insurance go up after a ticket?

I just got a speeding ticket how much will insurance go up?

  • Im 18 i was speeding to get to school, 50 in 35... The ticket was worth 50 dollars, i pay 1200 a year for insurance and i was wondering how much it goes up, and my insurance company is farris insurance in Hickory NC, and my sister works there.

Figure 50% for 15 over the limit. That will probably last for 2 or 3 years. You got off REALLY cheap on the fine! In most jurisdictions the basic fine is $10 per MPH over the limit, and at 15 over they double it.

Go to court, hopefully it will be reduced to a non-moving violation (Parking) You'll still pay a fine, but no insurance increase
