Do you have to set an appointment to take a driving permit test?

Do I still have to take my driving permit test if I'm already 16?

  • When I turned 15 and 1/2 I didn't go to the DMV to take a permit test or get any driving lessons. Now I've been 16 for almost 3 months, if I went to the DMV now for classes would I still have to take a permit test, or would I take the test for my license? I live in Ohio.
