Have you bought anything from Yesasia.com?

I bought my car 3 months ago from a private dealer. Passed inspection but shouldn't have, Anything I can do?

  • I bought a 2000 Subaru Legacy wagon (167,000 miles), from a private dealer. It passed inspection at Jiffy Lube but after taking it a different shop I am told it should never have passed. It has a severely rusted interior frame, something wrong with the exhaust, and needs a new head gasket. The head gasket is no shock (I know Subarus are known for that, especially as old as it is and the high miles), but the subframe rust is my biggest issue. The private dealer I bought from had done some welding, which he told me, but I am told now that the work was sloppy. I realize since it was a private dealer, I can't expect much from him, especially since it passed inspection, but can I do anything with Jiffy Lube for passing it when it clearly should not have? I was told it is not something that is easily overlooked, so how did Jiffy Lube miss it? Any help would be great, I'm a bit lost at what I should do. Thanks

An inspection/MOT is only valid on the day it was tested so in law, no you cannot do anything about it.
