Does my insurance premium go up in a nobody’s-fault car accident?
-
I was rear-ended. After all the inspection and taking statements from me and the other guy who hit me, the cop finally concluded that my car somehow for a split-second was on the other lane and thats why the other guy hit me frfom the back. This other guy doesnt have any insurance, and the cop just gave him a ticket for not having insurance. To me he gave a ticket and said that I just need to attend a driving class and there would be no points and no record on my licence. His car hardly has any damage and my technician has estimated about 4000 bucks for my car. I am waiting to hear back from my Insurance Appraiser on their estimate. Will my insurance premium go up after all this has been sorted out?

Answer:
If you're insurance is paying for the repairs to your car i would imagine your premium would go up.

if your insurance pays for the ANY damage whether its yours, his, or both, or you get points for it, then YES your insurance will go up. Think about it. They gotta get their $4000 back they paid out for your car.
Yes, your premium will go up at renewal. Not sure where your getting this is a 'no fault' accident. If your being advised that you drifted or made an unsafe lane change, you are at fault. If you were given a citation, you can attend traffic school. Your driving record follows you no matter what insurance carrier you change to.
If they pay anything to have your car fixed it will. No fault means it's no fault the insurance companies will raise your rates or dump you if they feel like it. When you renew and it depends
