Does yahoo offer financial services?

Does Yahoo offer military personnnel special services to sell their automobiles before being deployed?

  • I have found an automobile for sale on Craigslist. The price is very reasonable. The person selling the car is trying to run the transaction through Yahoo. The seller is stating that they are being deployed soon and needs to make a quick transaction. The seller writes to me and states that the vehicle delivery will handled by US Army logistics. It sounds very suspicious. Please advise

  • Answer:

It's a scam. Yahoo is not a 3rd party escrow service and the whole 'deployment' story is common in scams like these. In case you didn't see it in the big CAPS letters on Craigslist, ALL OFFERS TO SHIP VEHICLES ARE 100% FRAUDULENT. Report this listing to craigslist to have it removed.

SCAM The military does not deliver sold vehicles to new owners. It's hard enough getting them to deliver your own personal vehicle to your new duty station, there's no way you could get them to deliver a sold vehicle to a new owner. Plus, deployed personelle usually know in advance they are being deployed so theres no reason for it to be an "immediate sale", not to mention every military base in the country offers discount vehicle storage to deployed servicemembers. And every town near a military base usually has thousands upon thousands of vehicle storage options.
