This all depends on the car lot that you work for. Some get paid every other week. Some get paid every week. Many no longer get a commission. They get a flat rate for each car they sell instead of a percentage of the sales price. Using this model the sales person has the same incentive to sell any car on the lot. Not just the more expensive models that get them a higher commission.

It really depends on the dealer and how their payroll is set up but most salesmen get one commission check a month. They combine the month end sales figures and issue one check. Of course most salemen also work on a small salary too so they get paid every two weeks but once a month their commission checks come in.
Many salesmen get weekly or biweekly draws against commission. So it could be a week to a month to see any extra from a car sale.
