What is the google checkout?

Buying a car through google checkout? is it a scam or possible...?

  • this guy is selling a 2005 nissan for sale but he lives in michagan which is no where near where i live. he says if i give google checkout the money they can hold it until i get the car.then once i get the car i have seven days to decide if i like it. all the mean time google checkout is supposed to be holding my money. if i decide i dont like it i have the option of sending it back and getting my money back. but if i do then i tell google checkout and then they send my money for the car to the seller. does this sound like he's trying to scam me out of my money or is google checkout a legit and promiseable way of buying a car with someone who lives so far away.

  • Answer:

100% SCAM That is NOT how Google Checkout works. Google Checkout is a payment system ONLY for stores listed on Google and you purchase through a registered Google Merchant's site. They do not hold your money or give your money back and do not get involved in ANY car transactions THIS is how Google Checkout works http://checkout.google.com/seller/how_buyer.html?hl=en&gl=GB It is not involved in transactions between individuals, only with companies who have online stores who are registered Google Merchants And NEVER for any reason agree to buy a car that you cannot see in person, test drive, have a mechanic check out, AND verify in person that the seller's drivers license is the same name as on the title. Not only are there scams like you listed which just steal your money through phony google checkout emails wanting you to pay through Moneygram or Western Union. But car thieves resell stolen cars all the time online, listing at a cheap price for a quick sale. If you don't check the seller's ID in person and compare to the title (don't trust email, with photoshop anyone can change the details on a scanned license) you will get scammed and also investigated for car theft when you go to register the car Think about it - if the seller was in Michigan, they would have listed the car in Michigan, NOT in your city/state. Report this to the site where it was posted to get the ad removed ASAP

THIS IS A TOTAL SCAM. They are trying to steal your money. There is no car. If you send them money they will disappear and you'll never see the car or your money again. Do you understand how easy it is to be anonymous over the Internet. If you send them any money, You'll never hear from these people again. Never give anybody money if you can't see the car, drive the car and inspect the car and discuss the transaction in person face to face with the seller.

NEVER, EVER buy a car without inspecting it in person first. you have no idea what your buying, pictures can't tell you if the engine is blown or if the transmission is skipping gears. once you give him the cash, what's to stop him from running away with the title? do you even know if he gave you his real name? how do you know that the car even exists?

NONAME

SCAMMER STAY AWAY NEVER SEND ANYONE ANY MONEY FOR A CAR VIA MAIL OR INTERNET NEVER!
