How many miles does the Suzuki XL 7 last for?

Which car to keep? 2001 Jeep Cherokee with 185,000 miles, rebuilt engine or 2006 Suzuki xl 7 w/ 80,000 miles?

  • I have one extra car and need to sell one. My husband just got the Jeep in trade from someone and it needed a new engine. He had a mechanic(don't know his history of integrity) put a rebuilt engine in. The jeep is roomier, a more quiet ride but has many more miles on it. The air conditioner, heater and radio/cd player all need repair on the jeep if I were to keep it. The exterior and interior are in good shape in both cars. I got the Suzuki with 24,000 miles on it and have had it serviced every 3,000 miles since. The Suzuki is so noisy I hate that! Need an informed opinion.

Sounds like you answered your own question. You've already made the investment of putting the rebuilt motor in the Jeep, and you seem to like it more. I would keep it, run it to 250,000 miles, do the repairs and sell the Suzuki in the near future, provided that you don't owe more on the Suzuki than what it's worth. It doesn't sound like you are happy with the Suzuki.
