What should I sell my 1995 Chevy Camaro for?
-
It has a manual transmission. It has 255,314 miles on it. The previous owner said the engine has 90,000 miles on it. He rebuilt it. It does not run now and we put maybe 700 miles on it if that before it died. It may need a whole new engine but we were going to try to change the timing belt first and see if that fixed it. We did not have the time or money to do that when the car died on us so it was left without being messed with for a few months and ended up having a mouse chew the wires that hook in at the top of the engine so now they also need to be replaced so we just want to sell it and find a camaro that runs. The windshield is cracked and there are a few dents in it from hail but not bad and two larger dents about the size of a fist that were there when we bought it. There is also a sun spot on the hood that needs repainted and the roof and trunk has paint that is coming off that needs repainted. The interior is in okay condition but the driver's seat has a hole in it so we had to put a seat cover over it to keep the stuffing from coming out everywhere. The dash also is cracked in the middle from the front of it all the way back to the windshield. It has a CD player in it that the previous owner bought and put in. The windows and door locks are manual. It has cruise and it does work. The driver side door has something wrong with the latch so it has to be flipped up each time it is opened to close it or it will not close. I tried to find a price for the car on Kelley Blue Book but it will not tell a value for a car in poor condition and I cannot find a price anywhere by just searching for one. I just want to sell the car but not find out later that I sold it for too little. I do not know what it would be worth to just sell as a project car. I do know that a new engine like we want to put in it would cost about $2000 and that is why I just want to sell it and get what I can for it as is. I paid $2500 for it and it ran okay when we bought it but it didn't take long for it to stop running. We bought it from someone that we thought was a friend that lived 400 miles away so we did not look at before we bought it. We thought they would be truthful about it but they weren't and we will never buy a car without looking at it first ever again. (For those that are reading this and wondering why we bought such a bad car to begin with.)Any help would be much appreciated. I just don't want to sell it too cheap or to price it too high and never sell it. If you need any other information about it please let me know. Thanks!
