• ok i have fairly good credit (between 700 and 720) but i have only had credit for about a year i have 4 credit cards (macys-100 jcpenney-800 kays-300 and walmart-500) all of which i have used often and paid always on time, i have went to dealers and they all want me to put 3000 down but i only have 1000 and i need this car fairly quickly (my cavalier is on its last leg) the car i am looking at is a 2007 mitsubishi eclipse gs sport for 12900 how can i get a loan for it and just put my 1000 dollars down cause it will take me a few months to make the other 2000 and i dont think my current vehicle will last that long how can i get this loan

Your other option is a buy here pay here dealer. Except that for $1000 down you will get a car worth maybe $1500 if you are lucky and you will owe thousands more. Bottom line is you have Champagne taste on a beer budget. Your credit score is surprisingly good to have such limited credit. But theres a difference between a $300 credit card bill and a $12,000 car loan. The lender doesn't want you walking away if your motor or transmission goes out 6 months after you buy it. What about using $1000 and your car to get something you CAN afford...in the $3000-5000 range ?
