What is a good awd/4wd car to restore?

• i have recently been considering taking up a light restoration project (mainly cosmetic, and light mechanical work). I originally wanted a early 70's porsche, but now i have realized that whatever car i get will need to be either awd or 4wd, yet i would still like it to be sporty and fun. I was thinking about a late 80's-early 90's Porsche 911 Carrera 4, but all of the examples for sale are in near pristine condition, and just out of my price range. I'm looking for something under 10k but i could probably stretch it to 15k if needed.Thank You.

  The Carrera 4 is one of the only AWD sports cars from that era. You can pick up a Subaru SVX, which is a pretty sweet car and also has a boxer engine, but its still not a Porsche. Other than that, the only sporty cars that have AWD that comes to mind would be the 80's Audi GT or the Toyota Celica GT-4 but these will be hard finds.
