Am I getting a good price for this Mercury Capri?

• Hi guys, well recently I just found a 1991 Mercury Capri on sale on the road somewhere. Its red by the way. The outside is ok. Not to the point of being ugly though. Also the interior is a little not that great. However, I haven't even tried the car out myself. I just parked next to the car checked it out called the guy and so yea. The car is selling at 800 bucks but the guy said the price was negotiable. This is the regular base car by the way. Not the XR2 Turbo (which I would love to have cus of the acceleration). And the guy told me the car just has some few stuff missing. Spark plugs. water leaks(although I don't know where cus I forgot what he said) It has around 100k miles. So im thinking that as long as the car is in good condition. That it runs well and everything that I could probably get it for less than 800. So what do you guys think? I know its dumb that I haven't even tried it yet, but I just wanted to know what you guys think. By the way I've always been lucky in life when it comes to getting good deals ;)

  if it is missing the spark plugs and it is leaking water I smell a ripoff. Walk away and spend your money on something that you can actually take on a test drive. I always start the car drive it around a bit look at the body and suspension components and leave it running for like 30 mins while I chat up the seller. That's when I will go through and check the fluids and look for leaks. If anything looks funny smells funny smokes or looks out of the ordinary just walk away. Also never go to buy a vehicle alone I always take a friend with me to rein me in if i get excited to prevent me from buying a car I might really want but is not worth the money I am going to pay for it.
