How to build self confidence?

  • Some days I feel great, I love talking to people, I feel comfortable in my own skin and enjoy everything. Other days I'm over thinking every little situation and I feel like I have no confidence and I get extremely nervous and shy. I don't completely know myself yet so I just try to be the nicest guy I can be. But I need to build self confidence. How do I do this? Anything will help guys. I just want to feel good in my own skin and stop trying to impress every single person. Thanks

    self indulgence is the cause of 'low self confidence' or any type of anxiety. understand this crucial point. the antidote is to redirect the focus from 'me' to 'other than me'. everyone is too busy thinking about him/herself every single moment. in truth, nobody pay real attention to 'other people' - not as much as they pay attention to themselves. we are mired in our own delusional world, judging and criticizing ourselves to no end, unnecessarily. stop this behavior through deep understanding of the mind. accept and embrace yourself - a perfection in itself. and nobody has ever judged you, except your own self.

Have you tried CBT ? Cognitive Behaviour Therapy ? I was bullied throughout my childhood and teenage years and have suffered from shyness and social anxiety as a result. CBT is the best thing I know. There is a book called the shyness and social anxiety workbook. Also relaxation CD's are a good help. Hope this helps.
