When You Say Nothing At All?

Is it considered wrong to say nothing when you're being abused?

• By definition people would say I've been emotionally and physically abused by my parents, however I don't see it that way. A little corporal punishment never hurt anybody, and my mom insults everyone. I can't say I care much about this abuse. I'm perfectly healthy, my mom has never bruised or injured me, we have a very good bond, and they try to do the best for me. Everyone always talks about how close we are and how such great parents they are to me. Aside from the times when my mom gets stressed or mad, I don't have any issues with them. It's not even like she yells at me most of the time - it's typically at my dad.

  Abuse is clearly defined legally for your state. People forget that. People usually overract because they dont' agree with how another raises their children. 9 times out of 10, a child who's been reported as abused really isn't. You obviusly don't believe you're being abused. You say you're never physically harmed by anyone unless it's as a punishment, you have a good rapport with your parents, and I'm gonna assume that your house is clean and you're fed and dressed properly everyday. That's all that a CPS worker would be allowed to look for. Parents have the right to raise their children as they see fit, that's the law. Don't worry about what others are saying. It's your family's business. Even if a CPS worker showed up one day, they'd most likely dismiss the allegations.
