How to quit my internship?

Is it a good sign if you feel relieved to have quit an internship?

• A few weeks ago I started the Disney College Internship Program filled with a lot of enthusiasm but now I feel drained and not in the most positive attitude. The fact that I am going home soon to work there or do something through my university instead makes me feel happy but my friend that I came over here with is pretty upset. Personally I think that she is having more fun here and since she doesn't have to go back for school in spring like I will in January she feels she has nothing to miss out on. Rather I am excited to return home even if it means quitting this internship which is quite an opportunity. Instead of being proud though of what I am doing I am feeling distraught and my last internship abroad this summer made me feel so proud. This new internship is filled with costumes, parks, meeting new people, and having a safe nice network, and I don't know why I am happy to be leaving. Even though these experiences and opportunities are great and the company is good and I told everyone I would be here all the way through after quitting today I felt happy. Is this weird to be feeling? Everyone tells me I will regret this choice, but oddly I don't regret it.

  Maybe you are homesick? Maybe after being in this internship awhile, you found that Disney wasn't your comfort place? or maybe - going back to what you know seems like it will be lots easier. I would need lots more info to know if it is good or not to quit this internship. But it is what you feel. Maybe you will regret it someday, maybe not. Your friends don't foretell the future anymore than you do.
