How can i build confidence and self esteem?

  • Im always the she nervous one in school. The other dudes in my class, the confident ones, always seem so much more happy and every seems to like and notice them. For instance in class when my teacher asks a question, ill know it, but im always to shy to answer cuz im always afraid ill be wrong, and the confident guys will answer the same way i wouldve and get it right. but when i finally raise my hand to answer ill get nervous and say the wrong thing. i feel if i was more confident, not only would it boost my self esteem but i think id be happy in school and in life and people would think more of me then just (that shy quiet kid)

    Next time this happens, (and you are 75% sure you know the right answer) force yourself to raise your hand. Chances are, you'll get it right, AND people will notice you during class. If you're wrong, who really cares? No one really pays attention and cares. The act of raising your hand (regardless of whether you'll answer correctly or incorrectly) shows that you have confidence in yourself. Raise your hand as much as possible, people will start to notice you and might even think of you as smart! ;) Raising your hand more often will definitely boost your confidence and self esteem. It'll build a foundation of confidence, and soon, you'll be doing a bunch of other things that'll help you in life & school. :) good luck. -Jenna

You need to start acting braver, this world will not care for shy ppl like you, push back ! Dont get into confrontations though.

Try being friends with them, if you get to know everyone in class, even teachers, you wont feel as shy. I was the same at school, but later on the year, everyone started to know each other and i just didnt care about what others would say. Just ignore everyone else, and do what YOU want to do. I always used to get nervous when i had to do a play for school, but then i used to think to myself, we are all humans, if i make a mistake, or act stupid, im sure im not the only one who did that in this whole world. Keep in mind: Do what you want to do, and f*ck the rest !
