• There's a guy I met when I was 16, at church. We'll call him Alex. I instantly liked him, but the feeling definitely wasnt mutual. I got to know him and his family pretty well, and am okay friends with his younger sister. So I kind of let it go, and stopped going out of my way, and let those feelings crawl off to die. The summer after Alex started university, he needed a summer job and my dad hired him to work at the family business. I also work, so we ended up spending the whole summer together. He was always the one to preach to me about "be yourself" ". Weird stuff would happen..we'd end up in in the building with all the lights off, talking. Or he would make fun of my butt, or put down guys I talked about. He worked for us til februrary. This year, I havent seen him a lot, but he now got texting so I text him occasionally--no more so than I text my other friends. I wrote him happy halloween. He wrote me back and was like "You can call me in 20 minutes." Uhhh..I dont want to call you. He called me a month ago, TWICE, and I was in a meeting and couldnt answer. He woudl never tell me why he called, either. Then the next day he texted me out of the blue, "You never called me." I was on my way to tutoring, and my tutor lives around the corner from his parents house. While I was right in front of the house he called me. To tell me some joke. And he told me he couldnt come out--that he was naked. Then he invited me in. And lo and behold..he wasnt naked. So there I was, alone with him in his parents house... It was so bizarre. He kept grinning and wouldnt give me any straight answers or normal conversation. His mom was on her way home, and I knew she wouldn’t react well if she walked in and found me sitting in her kitchen, with her son. He invited me to stay for dinner, ‘I will tell her youre my secret girlfriend.“ Anyways..later I texted hima nd was messing with him and said something like “I love you, but youre stupid.“ He wrote me back, “Are you serious?“ I kept ignoring it. “How long have you loved me?“ Then he wrote, “I don’t like you because you have liked me for so long and only hint about it and wont just tell me and you never try to hang out with me or get to know me.“ Somehow this progressed to, “You don’t know what I would have said because you never asked” to “ I like a girl for who she is and not how hot she is” to finally, the GUT PUNCH: “I like you as a sister but what I do knowa bout you is it does not seem you are my type.“ So alls wells that ends well,, after FOUR years, but I’m pissed. WHY did he bait me into a conversation like that, and keep bugging me, if THAT was the conclusion he already HAD? We’re 20. He’s never had a gf.
