How can i get motivated to do my grad school work?

I was in that situation once. I wanted to take a year off, but my girlfriend encouraged me to stick with it, and I'm glad I did. Maybe consider cutting your workload to one or two classes a term. Yes, it may take longer, but the rewards will be worth it. Also, down the road, job opportunities may improve. When I finished my master's, it took a year, but I found a job that payed almost four times what I was earning with a Bachelor's degree. Hang in there.

Focus on one thing at a time and make a plan. So lets say you have 4 hours and you obviously will need breaks inbetween all this time and that's okay. It's about quality study time not quantity. on avg the avg person needs a break after 45 minutes but you may go over or under this amount whenever you feel that you find your mind wandering or tired then take a break. What motivates me do to my college work is the fact that I'm tired of being poor and being a nobody in society. I don't want to work my fast food part time job for the rest of my life. I'm tired of not owning a car, I want to establish a independent life for myself and I know the only long-term way of doing that is to obtain a degree in an in-demand field. I walk home everyday through rain or shine, I'm either sweating like mad coming home or soak and wet. This is my life. I go to college everyday and sometimes it can get overwhelming Yet the one thing I seem to find inner peace is in learning... Don't you have that feeling too? The feeling when you've just mastered a difficult concept, the feeling of topping over your peers grade-wise despite the circumstances of your life, You can triumph over anything you want to in your life -- just how badly do you want it? The strong survive The weak will fall Be one of the strong, defy the odds and rise before the challenge :)

Forget everything for 10 minutes and just breath in and out. Focus on one object (apple or something you like) in your mind. Then after that just focus on one thing that need to be done right and follow that thing until you are done with it (every time some new thing or whatever come up in your mind, just refocus on the task at hand). Do it for each task that you think is a major priority (1,2,3). Do 1 until that thing is completely done and then move on to 2.

I know it's late in the game, but pick a subject that really interests you and you will automatically be motivated to do research in it. If you're unmotivated by a subject in school and that becomes your occupation, you will spend the rest of your life unmotivated at your job.

Concentrate.

If you don't pass the classes then you have to stay longer.
