How should i motivate myself to get my hw done?

Am i doing the right thing? whats a good way to motivate my child to get her work done?

• she wont do her school work and is getting bad grades. she says she wants to do better but doesnt know how. this has been going on since the beginning or her high school career and shes now a junior and colleges are looking at this year. she insists that she wants to get into a good college and lead a good life but i dont see the effort and i know she sees it too because shes told me. as a way to get her to do her work, i wont allow her out of the house unless its for school, work, to run an errand, or for any extra curricular she has, which is usually every day except for mondays. her grades close in 30 days and if she wants to be able to have a social life, she has to do her work. she complains that shes less motivated now by this punishment and that the school work will stay the same, but i just keep telling her that if the grades dont DRASTICALLY improve for report cards, she wont get any social privaleges back. shes actually a very good student when she wants to be. she gets good grades in many of her classes but in a couple of them, she had a D and an F in because she didnt feel like doing the work because she either didnt like the class or the class took a little more effort than the classes in which she was receiving A's and B+'s in. am i doing the right thing? what else can i do or have her do that will motivate her to do well?

  Show her how poverty looks like by letting her experience it. Take all her gadgets or any convenience that make her life better. In this way, she will be more motivated in her studies and to be creative on how to get her work done.
