How can we bring solar power energy to our streets?

What is Venezuela's stance on Development and renewable Energy?

  • I'm a freshman in high school and I'm participating in a model un. Tommorrow topic is Development and renewable energy and I 'm representing Venezuela. I pretty much have the topic down but I'm shaky on Venezuela's stance on this. I know it's one the top oil producers of the western hemhemisphered world. But it's energy sector is 71% hydhydro-poweren. Venezuela also working with other countries to bring in new renewable energy sources such as wind and solar power. Any tips, advice, and/or information would be really really great!!!

  • Answer:

I do not think Venezuela cares about environment - they have plenty of economic problems already. They use Hydro for electricity b/c they have lots of mountain rivers, so hydro power is easier and cheaper than gas- or oil-based. If there is some serious solar or wind power, it is either a front for Chavez giving money to his buddies. Otherwise, solar or wind are commonly used in remote areas b/c it is cheaper than building hundreds miles of power lines.
