What kind of pieces should you be playing?

How do I advance my guitar playing?

• I have been playing guitar for 4 years now, and I have reached a kind of plateau. My repertoire is mostly jazz comping, classic rock (the Beatles, the Rolling Stones etc.) and a little bit of pop-rock (Rogue Wave, Coldplay etc.). However, I have reached a point in my playing where everything is either ridiculously easy or too difficult for me to even get through. I would like some recommendations on different genres that I should try, and some specific pieces/techniques that might help me advance my playing. I'd appreciate if some experienced players would help me out. Thank you!
