Need help with my guitar amp?

Need help picking a guitar amp?

  • Answer:

Electric guitar amp or acoustic guitar amp? I assume you mean electric, if so I'd say the Fender Mustang II if you want something loud enough to jam with friends, etc. If you only want something for playing at home I'd suggest the Roland Micro Cube which is only $129. Here's the thing, any amp loud enough to play out with isn't going to sound great at home. In my opinion every guitarist needs a low watt practice amp. When you start playing out you can get a gigging amp, but you need both. If you are just playing at home I'd highly recommend the Micro Cube, and then when you start playing out get a good tube amp. I have thousands of dollars worth of Mesa Boogie, Marshall, Blackstar and Fender tube amps sitting in my guitar room but 95% of the time I'm plugging into the Micro Cube. It just works better at home volumes. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/guitars/roland-micro-cube-combo-amp

Anything with at least 30 watts, combo (tubes/solid state), and a 12" speaker should be enough to get you started and have enough volume and tonal expression for now, for most environments. Brands that offer up such models at your price range: Crate, Fender, Line-6; Orange and Peavey. You still need to try out these amps with your new guitar, to really find what you will be satisfied with and understand what they can really off up for what you expect.

i would sugest a peavey vyper or a line 6 spyder. i say these because they have effects built into them and you will become familiar with the sounds and get to know what your talking about with it and from there your knowledge will grow
