Opening the throat when singing?

How can I get my singing voice smoother?

  • I am singing 'White Horse' by Taylor Swift for an audition... The notes sound great! People say my voice sounds like Adeles, As much as I <3 her I want my voice smoother- as it cracks a bit. I would love some advice! I know all about singing from my diaphram and opening up my throat are there any other tips? excercises? Singing postures? Etc etc... Thanks in advance! Oh and if you could, could you please look at some of my lyrics on my Q&A as I haven't really gotten many views or opinions- thanks again! Ty xoxox

  • Answer:

if you sit while you sing make sure you sit up straight and don't slouch. if your standing while you sing make sure you breath from your diaphragm and don't wait till the last minute to take a breath. also make sure your feet are at least shoulder wight apart and your chin is parallel to the floor. also make sure that your shoulders are slightly back. and above all else make sure you're confident.
