What are some slow and easy songs to play on Bass Guitar?

    When I was first learning bass, I started by playing along with Police songs, since they're simple and melodic and a great way to get acquainted with the fretboard. The earlier stuff is better -- songs like "Message in a Bottle" and "Roxanne", which aren't too fast. Joe Jackson had some great songs, too, that had really prominent bass lines that are easy to follow. Sorry that I've dated myself with these references, but those are the ones I used. And I've noticed that bass hasn't been as prominently featured in the mix of songs over the past couple decades, which makes it more challenging to play along with music.
