Having a Trumpet playing Problem?
-
I have been playing the trumpet for about 9 years now, but the past 3 years ive been having some problems. I do not have a very good upper register at all, and i always get these blister type things on the bottom of my lip where the lip meets the skin. I also have been having a pretty difficult time with endurance. I do practice every day, and i do have a teacher, but has anyone had any of the same problems? How did you fix it? Could all these be related? Im sorry, but these problems have been really getting me down.

Answer:
Blisters? It sounds like your skin is having a reaction to the mouthpiece. Has the plating worn through to bare brass? If so, buy a new mouthpiece.
