Can someone give me good song ideas for my senior solo?

I have no idea what my Audition Song should be... Can someone give ideas?

  • I'm doing Suessical and I don't really know what song to audition with. It's my first musical and I'm pretty nervous so preferably something short and easy. The song must be from a musical, that is the only instruction given. And I need the sheet music. I am an inexperienced singer so I'm not really sure what my range is. I more off a soprano than an alto though.

    Alright you can rock na audtion by:) 1.You should always find another show that has a similar style to the one you are auditioning for. (It helps if you use the same writers and composers.) 2.Act the song. Being in a musical isn't all about singing and a lot of it can be talk sung or made really funny through character. 3.Play with your piece make it perfect for you. 4. Be unique. (Directers will remember that) 5.And if you go first or last the director will remember you. 6.Have fun :))

For me, Dr. Seuss is ALL about fun. All he wanted was to entertain his reader. So pick something fun & upbeat - which should not be hard to find considering you have to pick a song from a musical. My first thought was Hairspray. It's really fast-paced and smiley. It should go well with what you're trying to portray. Almost all of the songs are light-hearted, easy to learn and fun to sing. It should also be a snap to find the sheet music as it is a very famous musical.

You should choose the type of song that you're more comfortable singing with,the one that can show your voice better,for me country-pop is the best.Plus you can get the music sheet of the song you're looking for for internet.
