Can you publish a history book w/ a masters degree and how?

Answer:
As Bill O'Reilly recently proved, you can publish a history book with no established creditentials in history at all. In the discipline itself even a BA Historian can publish, but most begin by publishing artcles in popular profesisonal journals. If your work is good enough, your submissions will be accepted and you will have built a big enough reputation to negotiate book terms with a publisher over time. You will have to writea thesis for your masters degree regardless of whether you want it published, but I'm sure your advisor should have all the necessary info. are you about to enter gradduate school or are you already in a masters program? As I understand it, may professors provide information on getting published if you ask for it.

Contact the universities/colleges where you got the BA/MA. They may have a university press. If so, contact the university press to see whether there is interest in your book. Maybe your book is based on your master's thesis; maybe other. Suggest sending an outline, proposal, or a few first draft chapters. I weep for you your anjuncting.
