In what order did the empires ruling europe rule and fall?
-
I'm studying architecture so i have studies the architectural history of these empires such as Hagia sophia, and pantheon etc but i'mfascinated by the empires themselves. The roman empire, byzantine empire, ottoman empire what other empires ruled europe and what order did they rule? I know that the byzantine empire fell to the otomans but aside from that i'm not too sure.

Answer:
I believe they all existed in the same time period; they did not separately rise and fall one after another. In addition, the Roman Empire was really the only empire that was in Europe. The Byzantine and Ottomans were more in the Middle East.

The Austrian Empire was another one. The Austrian Empire stopped the Ottomans from conquering further into Europe. Austria was a progressive country, they had the technological advantage over the Ottomans. But if you're also interesting in the architecture, you just have to see Vienna. The buildings there are magnificent. The Empire collapsed after WW1.
