Is Miami Thrice a bandwagon fan?

Who is a bandwagon fan?

  • Answer:

"Anyone who claims they are a "fan" of a particular sports team, even though they had no prior support for/interest in the team until that team started winning. These types of fans only show playoff interest, have probably never watched a regular season game, don't own any type of team merchandise, nor would they buy any. "

This can be applied to many different sectors, popular singers, *(Michael Jackson), sports, the Braves, or just about anything including the newest trend or fad. To me it means being a joiner, being one of the accepted crowd. In sports, who ever the winner is, as well as in politics.even when ever I get a comment like I'm *"this or that"--comment; or *"I have this fear; or hate;such and such", it all depicts being part of life's deliverance of partaking in any given sector, in many things, like attitudes, problems, diseases, even simply circumstances of our own making; or that of society"s ongoing situation, like right now a recession. We all tend to "feel better" when we air out whatever, or hear something is "normal", or even not "uncommon", or just "not so strange" and it even makes us "like/love" that answer specifically.! "Big time"!

Check out all definitions:--- 1. Any person claiming they are a “fan” of a specific sports team, but had no earlier interest until the team started winning. In November of 2004, millions of closeted Red Sox fans came out after the Sox won their first World Series in 86-years. 2. A person only showing interest during the playoffs, and watched less than 10% of the team’s regular season games. This is the reason the team’s loyal fans can’t get a seat at Buffalo Wild Wings or receive a beer at a bar in a timely matter during playoff season. 3. A person claiming to be a diehard fan, but cannot name more than 60% of a team’s starting roster and less than 50% of the full-man roster. A recent survey reported Buffalo Bills, Detroit Lions, and Cincinnati Bengals’ “fans” could name only 13% of the roster. 4. A person who becomes interested in a regional team after the team becomes really good and really quickly. This person begins buying out the team’s merchandise. Michigan and Wisconsin sports teams’ apparel sales reportedly went up 150% over this past year. 5. A person who becomes a fan because it’s popular. Cheering for the team is the popular thing. All the cool kids are doing it, so they must do it.
