Where do the starters stand at the tip-off?

• okay so im hoping to make the schoolteam basketball and please dont say they will teach you or look it up on google. well i am a forward so i need to know what the 2 forwards do , where they are on the court ( on both sides) when it switches from offence to defence. someone told me that when you switch sides of the court during a play you cross the court and go to the other side and that is where your position will be? and also need to know the signals a ref gives during a game and i need to know where to stand when a free throw is taken by our team , and by the other team. and the last thing is .... is where do i have to stand forthe tipoff?

  you need to look up ref signals on google videos the signals are: travelling , double dribble, carry , body block, push, foul, technial foul, timeout, ( i might be missing some) forwards: small forward and power forward. small forwards are the people who dont have enough handles to be a guard or are to tall to be a guard but to small to be a center. power forwards are the people who are a little bit to short to be centers. you have a decent shot but the small forward has better ball handling. *big difference is small forwards are 5'7-5'9 but power forwards are 5'10-6ft.* power forwards can rebound small forwards can shoot and dribble offense small forwards are on the wing ready to help the guards and to recieve screens power forwards are in the post or on the wing. have a decent shot and set a majority of the screens defense small forwards cover the opponents small forward they guard on the wings power forwards cover the opponents power forward usally in the post or on the wing someone told you wrong about switching sides. free throws for your team and other team small forwards are sometimes tall enough to be in lane during the shots but usally are near half court on either half (doesnt matter) power forwards are lined up in the lane tall people who rebound tipoff IT doesnt matter where you stand!! but if u really care small forwards are next to the opponent's guard or the person you are going to cover in a man to man defense. power forwards are near the opponent's center and power forward.
