Kant's philosophical views impressed upon me the degree to which intelligent people can go amiss in their views of humanity and the world. Although some of the conclusions he draws from his basic premises seem reasonable and make sense, his premises are, in my view, fatally flawed. The difference he made in my life - he taught me to be careful in accepting ideas without carefully analyzing the basic premises upon which they are built, and often not explicitly stated.
