What is this world coming to?
-
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gNZyHP_CyyE&feature=related This song's chorus goes, "I wish I could **** every girl in the world." Sadly, I'm not even religious but it's still heartbreaking to know music like this seems to get the most views. The majority rating it a thumbs up makes it so much worse. Sometimes I feel like I'm overreacting but this is just a small piece of what I see in general. Even the comments: 1. I love this song! 2. I want to **** every girl in the world, too! 3. Man those girls are ugly! What is the world coming to? It's complete disregard for human feelings and respect for one another. Women are like sextoys and all of these mindless halfwits just go along with it sticking up for this music. What's ironic is probably how most of these people are so-called Christians. I'm not taking a stab at Christians in general. It's like everyone is consumed by sex and wearing the latest brands regardless if another shirt that costs the less, was made by an different brand, was made with the same material. I know this is just my opinion and some would love to disagree and that's fine. Just please tell me how any of this is for the greater good of humanity? Breeding mindless consumerists who probably know **** about the direction we're headed economically. It's like everyone is completely unaware and immersed into all of these flashy lights that distract them. Are we insects to be attracted to shiny things so easily? Aren't we smarter than this? Sorry, I'm just venting. I just find this disturbing. And I'm not even that conservative or conventional, I'm just looking at where we've come from and here we are and it just doesn't seem right.

Answer:
In my opinion, the world will always be twisted. It's not exactly "What the world has come to" but more that there will always be disregard for equality. Humanity can get better, though. This is NOTHING compared to 200 years ago with slavery and a blatant disregard for woman's and human rights. If something like this is the most of our concerns, the we are living in a much better place than our ancestors.

I think you have to look at the age group too....since most of us outgrow that sort of thinking. But you're right; in an information age, the level of hypocrisy and propaganda is outrageous as well. I think it makes us not-trusting and despondent. It becomes like the boy who cried wolf. Keeping us stupid and fat is easier for businesses....but more difficult to generate wealth to spend. It's the problem when businesses run a country. How can there be a robust, active, free market when the top businesses conspire with the 'refs' on how the game should be played. What?...you mean THEY get all the breaks? No way!

the world is the same but while in the past such thoughts were not put out there for everyone to see. i think we all have a huge case of TMI. when once if one kid called another kid something mean it didn't get too far before it was forgotten while now that same kid can't ever get away from those things as they are out there for the world to see as well. words do hurt and sometimes worse than any broken bone because it takes longer for the soul to heal than it does a bone.
