What is the meaning of WC?

What are people asking when they ask what's the meaning of life?

  • Never once have I questioned the meaning of my existence. NEVER. The only reason I've pondered it is because it's asked so many times. The first time I heard it asked was on the simpsons ... Homer say "God, what is the meaning of life?" God: you'll know when you die. Homer: That's too long! God: You can't wait 40 days? Homer: (something random) God: Okay, the meaning of life is... *episode ends* I guess the reason it never interested me is because it has no relevance to my life. Think about it... What could God say that could change your life? God gave you desire, why does a person need to be told what to do like a machine? I bet that's what he says, to follow desire... I imagine a lot of people would be disappointed by that answer because they don't know what they "should" desire. After all, that's why they're constantly asking for the meaning of life... To desire to fulfil that meaning... Which in a very ironic sense, is to follow desire. But their desire is to find a *purpose*. Or rather, a reason to pursue desire. Coincidentally, the bible just happens to hold values and beliefs many people have. Beliefs like "be fruitful and multiply"... When the world and it's resources are finite. Imo, to have a child is utterly negligent and irresponsible. Think about how many people drag a child into this world... And to say it's morally righteous. Ugh, don't get me started. *waiting for the smartazz atheist to say "God doesn't exist moron"*

  • Answer:

The meaning of life constitutes a philosophical question concerning the purpose and significance of life or existence in general. This concept can be expressed through a variety of related questions, such as "Why are we here?", "What is life all about?", and "What is the meaning of it all?" It has been the subject of much philosophical, scientific, and theological speculation throughout history. There have been a large number of theories to these questions from many different cultural and ideological backgrounds. The meaning of life is deeply mixed with the philosophical and religious conceptions of existence, social ties, consciousness, and happiness, and touches many other issues, such as symbolic meaning, ontology, value, purpose, ethics, good and evil, free will, conceptions of God, the existence of God, the soul, and the afterlife. Scientific contributions focus more on describing related empirical facts about the universe; they largely shift the question from "why?" to "how?" and provide context and parameters for meaningful conversations on such topics. Science also provides its own recommendations for the pursuit of well-being and a related conception of morality. An alternative, humanistic (rather than religious) approach is the question "What is the meaning of my life?" The value of the question pertaining to the purpose of life may coincide with the achievement of ultimate reality, or a feeling of oneness, or a feeling of sacredness. There are many different prespectives ( Philosophical, Religious, and Scientific) There are also many popular vies such as :- ...to realize one's potential and ideals ...to achieve biological perfection ...to seek wisdom and knowledge ...to do good, to do the right thing ...to attain spiritual enlightenment ...to love, to feel, to enjoy the act of living ...to have power, to be better ...life has no meaning ...one should not seek to know and understand the meaning of life ...'life sucks'

Meaning of life is never known until man , start living his life and enjoy everything around him , no one cant give the meaning of life , because each person life experience is different , ones philosophy and advice doesn't fit for others , so meaning of life known only when he start living and learning from that .

Reason leads to doubt, not to certainty; to utter that God doesn't exist is as insane as to say that he must. I'd much rather bet this character was not to say "it's to follow desires." I would say that if any God he is, he would remain silent at the question.

Clearly, we were made for entertainment purposes. Try to empathize with divinity... it would be boring without us.
