How do you do Mole conversions?

Help! if u r really good a chemistry, i involves the mole conversions?

  • Answer:

    you need to calculate the molecular weight (MW) of AgNO3 using a period table. one mole of AgNO3 has: one mole of Ag (107.87 grams/mole) one mole of N (14.01 grams/mole) three moles of O (O is 15.99 grams/mole) so the molecular weight of AgNO3 is: moles of (Ag*MW of Ag) + (moles of N * MW of N) + (moles of O * MW of O) =1*107.87 + 1*14.01 + 3*15.99 =169.85 grams /mole so if you had 0.123 moles AgNO3 * (169.85 grams/mole) = 20.9 grams of AgNO3

You know the mass of 1 mol right? You add together the mass number of each element contained in your compound and that gives you the mass for 1 mol of AgNO3 From here its easy to find the value for 0.123 mol of AgNO3. I'll let you figure this out :D Good luck
