How and why does the concentration affect the reaction rate?

Answer:
Hey there :) Its all to do with successful collisions, for a molecules to react they have to collide in a certain way with enough energy (the activation energy), anything below this and a reaction doesn't occur, so basically if the concentration is higher there are more molecules in the reaction mixture so there is a higher chance of successful collisions and more successful collisions occur. When more successful collisions occur the overall rate is increased because the amount of reactants is decreasing more rapidly :) I hope this helped, let me know if you have any more questions, Jake :)

Because atoms and molecules move around. When you have more of the molecule, it's more concentrated. Think about it, if there are more molecules moving around, it will make the other molecules easier to hit it and react making the process faster.
